The fog returns to Punjab. Netflix has officially unveiled the trailer for Kohrra Season 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 breakout crime thriller. Spanning 2 minutes and 13 seconds, the trailer introduces a new, suffocating mystery in the town of Dalerpura, where old secrets refuse to stay buried.
A New Lead Pair: Barun Sobti Meets Mona Singh
Fans of the first season will recognize Barun Sobti, who reprises his role as Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi. However, the power dynamic has shifted. Garundi has been transferred to Dalerpura and finds himself under a new, formidable boss: Sub-Inspector Dhanwant Kaur, played by the versatile Mona Singh.
Dhanwant is a methodical and strict officer, serving as a sharp contrast to Garundi’s more instinctive and often impulsive approach. Their partnership forms the emotional core of the season as they struggle to find common ground while hunting a killer.
The Murder of Preet Bajwa: A Case Shrouded in Lies
The Season 2 trailer opens with a gruesome discovery: the body of a woman named Preet Bajwa (Pooja Bhamrrah) found in a barn. The investigation quickly becomes a family affair, as the body was discovered on her own brother’s property.
Suspicions immediately fall on those closest to her:
The Brother (Anurag Arora): Who had a long-standing dispute with Preet over land.
The Estranged Husband (Rannvijay Singha): A man with a violent past who becomes the prime target for the police.
As the detectives dig deeper, they realize that Preet’s death is just the tip of the iceberg, leading them into a web of missing persons and local corruption.
Authenticity in the Punjab Noir
One of the standout features of Kohrra remains its grounded atmosphere. The dialogues in Season 2 continue the series' signature mix of Punjabi and Hindi, giving it an "earthy" and realistic feel.
Created by Sudip Sharma, Gunjit Chopra, and Diggi Sisodia, the show continues to use the literal fog of Punjab as a metaphor for the moral ambiguity and "silences" within its characters. This season is co-directed by Sudip Sharma and Faisal Rahman, moving away from the first season's director, Randeep Jha, to bring a fresh perspective to the procedural.
Kohrra Season 2 Release Date on Netflix
The wait for the resolution of this new mystery won't be long. Kohrra Season 2 is set to release on Netflix on February 11, 2026.
With a cast that balances returning favorites and powerhouse newcomers, the series is poised to be one of the most intense digital releases of the year.
