Even though computer-generated imagery is becoming more and more prevalent, it's worth taking a moment to acknowledge that a whole lot of the MCU actors have put in the sweat & tears to get themselves in seriously impressive shape for some of their most iconic roles. Here are a few of the most standout examples from recent years.

First up is Chris Evans, aka Captain America. And let me tell you - he's back for more in Avengers Doomsday, as the recent leaks and rumours have confirmed. Chris' focus was on building functional strength and power, with exercises that replicated the movements of Marvel's superheroes - squats, deadlifts, and circuit training - all part of the daily routine. It was a total transformation - he basically chiselled himself into one of the most ripped bodies in Hollywood.

Right alongside him, though, is Chris Hemsworth, Thor to all of us. The Aussie superstar was on a mission to build muscle mass and definition all at the same time. Weightlifting and high-intensity training were the order of the day for Chris - the kind of thing that lets you get that massive, imposing physique that you just see in the Marvel movies.

And then there's Hugh Jackman, who brought Wolverine to life with a transformation that's still talked about to this very day. So we're talking a diet of 6,000-8,000 calories a day during the bulking phase and a workout that basically ripped his body apart - squats, bench press and deadlifts - and somehow still he managed to look like a total rockstar.

Lastly, we've got to mention Chris Pratt, Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy. To get in shape for the role, Chris even had to shed an astonishing 27kg in just 6 months, which is just not funny - not funny at all. His solution? Stop drinking and opt for a diet of 4,000 calories a day. Add in some serious weight training, running and kickboxing, and he was sorted.
