The trailer of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari was released on September 15, 2025, and is creating a lot of buzz among Bollywood fans. Directed by Shashank Khaitan of Dulhania series, this new romantic comedy stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, with a mix of love, laughter and emotional moments. The 3 minute long teaser is a burst of celebration, unique conversations and intricate dance numbers that screams "value for money" entertainment.
At the core of the story is Sunny (Varun Dhawan) a self proclaimed "Sanskari" from a traditional family, who gets dumped by his girlfriend Ananya (Sanya Malhotra). Ananya teams up with Vikram (Rohit Saraf) who is the ex boyfriend of Tulsi (Janhvi Kapoor) a small town girl. Sunny and Tulsi are devastated and plotting, they come to an agreement: pretend to be in a relationship to provoke jealousy in their exes and get them back. But as we all know, in true Bollywood style what starts as a plan goes haywire and emotions start to mess things up. The teaser hints at this "love and ex's chaos" with Sunny's Baahubali themed proposal that fails and Tulsi's fiery replies that shine on screen.
Varun Dhawan is back in the rom-com zone and is being his friendly neighbourhood self with over the top antics that take us back to his Main Tera Hero days. Janhvi Kapoor is moving beyond her charming characters and brings a bold and earthy vibe to Tulsi. Her chemistry with Varun is fun and high energy. Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf bring depth to their characters as the mysterious ex lovers while Maniesh Paul and Manini Chadha add a lot of humor and family drama.
What stands out is the trailer’s 90s references – Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha anyone? It mixes contemporary with traditional Indian customs – imagine big fat weddings, peppy songs like Panwadi and a marriage centric story that will make Indian film fans feel at home. The visuals are lovely – spinning saris, Holi bursts, family reunions that will put you in a festive mood. Perfectly timed for its release on October 2nd on Dussehra.
Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment bring you the film of 2025 that will redefine Bollywood romance. Karan Johar and Hiroo Yash Johar are at the wheel and the trailer is full of cheesy yet lovable dialogues and love and family chaos. It’s unapologetically formulaic but in the best way—laughter, chaos and that inevitable “pyaar toh hona hi tha” glow.
Looking for a light hearted ride? This trailer delivers. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has all the ingredients of a blockbuster. Can’t wait!
