Tollywood superstar Anushka Shetty's much-awaited film Ghati is facing difficulties for solo release. The shooting of this pan-India film has been completed and it is a suspense thriller drama based on ganja smuggling and cultivation in the Uttarandhra region. Anushka is playing the lead role in it while Tamil actor Vikram Prabhu will be seen in a pivotal role as Desi Raju. The film is directed by noted director Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by Rajiv Reddy and Saibabu Jagarlamudi under the banner of UV Creations.
The team of Ghati had earlier planned a release in April 2025 but now it is reported that the hopes of solo release have been dashed due to the release of several other pan-India films in June. The films releasing in June include many big projects due to which there is a risk of screen sharing and distraction of the audience. However, a ray of hope is that Vijay Deverakonda's film Kingdom is releasing in the first week of July, after which the second week is vacant. In such a situation, the team of Ghati is now exploring the possibility of a solo release in the second week of July.
The story of the film is inspired by real events and Anushka's character is expected to be strong and emotional. After the success of her last film Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, fans have high expectations from Ghati as well. The team has planned to release two trailers to intensify the promotions so that the enthusiasm of the audience can be increased.
But the uncertainty of the release date and the challenges of screen allotment in theaters remain a problem for the film. There is also a possibility of a shutdown in theaters in June as there is a dispute between exhibitors and producers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regarding revenue sharing. This may cause further damage to films like Ghati.
